The Grab N’ Go Lunch Program started as a weekly meal program to supplement food insecure adults in the Yates County community. Beginning in March 2020, the lunch program expanded to three times a week. Between March 2020 and August 2020, Grab N Go Lunches served over 200 people a week including Keuka College students who were unable to return to their homes and Early Head Start and Head Start families.
“Grab N’ Go is a great program and opportunity for us to help the community with free lunches,” a weekly volunteer shared.
Grab N' Go Lunches is one of the most popular programs at The Well. In 2022, 150 meals a week are shared with the Yates County community.
Local organizations support this program by preparing meals on dedicated days. For instance people from the Yatesville United Methodist Church can be found serving meals every other Friday. While organizations cover the cost of food, donations to The Well pay for food containers, silverware, and napkins.
Meals served through the Grab N’ Go Lunch program are available for pick up outside The Living Mission on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays starting at 11:30am.
