What is the Lent Donation Calendar?
Three years ago we started the Lent Donation Calendar dedicated to collecting items for our personal hygiene pantry. Colloquially known as Needs N’ Things, this pantry includes a large array of household items - deodorant and diapers to sponges and shampoo. The pantry focuses on every day needs.
Needs N’ Things was one of The Well’s original initiatives. It has provide thousands of items for Yates County residents. All the products and supplies in the pantry are free and available upon request. (Check out how to request items here.)
In 2021, The Well gave away 10,101 personal hygiene items and 12,345 items in 2022. The 22% increase shows the importance of using the Lent season to support this pantry.
People donate an array of items for the personal hygiene pantry, so there may be new items each week.
